Savage Family Farmstead – HerdShare Membership Info

We at Savage Family Farmstead are all about keeping things as simple as possible! So we will get straight to the point about HerdShare Memberships. If you have additional questions, please ask. It’s never a bother!

  1. We charge a one time MEMBERSHIP FEE of $25. This fee is refundable should you ever decide to no longer be part of our HerdShare. ***We require that all jars, lids and insulated bags are returned in good condition, prior to your refund of such Membership fees.
  2. Our Members pay a prorated portion of their MAINTENANCE fee for the herd at the time of their Fresh Milk request. ***This cost is calculated and divided by the number of half-gallon jars of milk the cows produce. At this time, that fee is $7 per jar of Fresh Milk. Additional Fresh Milk Products are also available for request by our Members.
  3. Once your Membership Agreement has been signed and Membership Fee paid, we will issue you a password that will get you into THE CREAMERY section of our site. ***This is where all things HerdShare/Fresh Milk are gathered and where our Members request their items and schedule their pick up. 🙂
  4. We DO NOT require a minimum Fresh Milk Jar request OR have a set mandatory pick up schedule. *** Our Members have the right to request as much or as little of the Fresh Milk that we anticipate will be available; as well as, how often they choose to pick up.
  5. We DO require that all glass jars, lids and insulated bags are returned clean and in good condition at each pick up. ***This way we can hand off to you a fresh insulated bag with Freshly filled jars.
  6. We DO require that all requests be made prior to the CUT-OFF date for their corresponding PICK-UP. ***Because we MILK TO ORDER for our Members to ensure they receive the freshest milk possible, we ask Members to request their milk in advance. We don’t use large walk-in coolers or store milk long, so a helpful ‘heads-up’ is crucial. 🙂
  7. We DO LOVE IT, when our Members give us a courtesy “Headed Your Way” text. ***This helps us know exactly when you will arrive, which also allows us to keep your Milk Request and FarmStore Order frigidly fresh for as long as possible before we hand it off to you!
  8. We ARE HAPPY to add you to our courtesy ORDER-CUT OFF text list. *** Should your life be as crazy as ours, sometimes it’s nice to have a quick and friendly ‘Order Cut-Off’ reminder sent to you via text. If this is YOU, just let us know. We just so happen to be fluent in ‘Crazy’. lol
